Sweetheart,<\/p>\n

Another hurried note to catch the mail as I am pushing off again down the road.\u00a0 I won\u2019t be able to catch a mail further on.\u00a0 Nothing whatever has happened since I wrote you midday yesterday.\u00a0 Enjoyed \u201cSun Valley Serenade\u201d1<\/a><\/sup>Sun Valley Serenade (1941)<\/a> starring Sonja Henie, John Payne and Glenn Miller and his orchestra. See also Wikipedia<\/a><\/span> once more \u2013 The skiing was extra good.\u00a0 Got a real kick out of it.\u00a0 Fancy that wonderful season down south going to waste.2<\/a><\/sup>Bill and Jess regularly went skiing at Kosciuszko with the Millions Ski Club<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019ll be pleased to be home again soon \u2013 I don\u2019t know \u2013 I like it up here but get sick of the lack of privacy & I miss you.\u00a0 Be a bit of alright if we had a house up here together.\u00a0 Have managed to get enough stuff together to keep me going for some time when I return so that even if I go to New Guinea we\u2019ll be together for a few months.\u00a0 After 10 years3<\/a><\/sup>Wep and Jess were married August 24, 1933<\/span> you certainly get settled down into a routine existence.\u00a0 After the war we\u2019ll have to get away more together.\u00a0 Make our own pleasures without the help or otherwise of others.<\/p>\n

Fighter pilots4<\/a><\/sup>RAAF 457 Squadron (Spitfires) at Livingstone Airfield<\/span> are putting on a do this week celebrating some anniversary.\u00a0 Your art husband has been invited \u2013 I suppose he will feel a little poorly on the morning after.<\/p>\n

I like to get away from the correspondents\u2019 mess \u2013 there\u2019s too much blasted proximity all the time.\u00a0 But miss your letters like hell.\u00a0 I won\u2019t get one now until Monday next when I plan to return.<\/p>\n

Have nothing more to add at the moment darling \u2013 will write again tonight.\u00a0 This is just so\u2019s you\u2019ll get something to remember me by you little beaut.<\/p>\n
