Wed 25th<\/sup> August 1943<\/p>\n

Darling,<\/p>\n

This I hope will be the last letter you get before you get me personal like.<\/p>\n

Unless someone, or something causes a priority travel hitch I should be back home Monday evening.\u00a0 So get yourself polished up today my girl \u2013 I\u2019ll be seeing you tonight down by the Bay.<\/p>\n

Didn\u2019t have a party on our anniversary.\u00a0 The lads here are saving up for a do on Friday night \u2013 farewell to some Flight \u2013 Loot who is going down on leave.\u00a0 Looks as if I may be included in the festivities \u2013 we, I hope, (not because of his company but because of the plane) shall travel down together.\u00a0 Had three glasses of beer on the great occasion.\u00a0 They drank our health and I drank yours.<\/p>\n

Am going out to a cattle station1<\/a><\/sup>The cattle station called Humpty Doo was adjacent to Livingstone Airfield<\/a> where No. 457 (Spitfire) Squadron was based<\/span> for two days leaving after breakfast this morning.\u00a0 So won\u2019t be writing you again.<\/p>\n

Lots and lots of love dear<\/p>\n

Hope everything in the\u00a0garden is lovely \u2013 Freddie.<\/p>\n
